The dust is settled, grime is gone,
A fresh, wet sheen is on the lawn.
The hot-pavement smell, the earthy sigh,
Beneath a clearing, hopeful sky.

The city takes a breath, deep and slow,
And for a moment, seems to glow.
A temporary, clean reprieve,
Is all the magic we receive.
