The surface glitters, clear and deep,
A shivering, cold promise to keep.
My toes curl back, my muscles tense,
Against all of my common sense.
One moment of suspended fear,
While the warm, safe, solid world is here.
Then a deep breath, a final sigh,
And then I leap, and then I fly.
A shivering, cold promise to keep.
My toes curl back, my muscles tense,
Against all of my common sense.
One moment of suspended fear,
While the warm, safe, solid world is here.
Then a deep breath, a final sigh,
And then I leap, and then I fly.
